Inlaid Die Cutting With Altenew

Hello Hello! I’m back with another card project to share using a gorgeous die cutting technique I learned in Altenew’s class Easy Die Cutting Techniques! And while the lessons in the class do teach easy techniques, I opted to take my card to a whole other level ! I started by creating a background for my card using the Flowing Heart Stencil I inked up some of the hearts using various Crisp Dye ink colors and then I also did a few using a new texture paste called Fluff from Moda Scrap

And then it was time for the die cutting. I started by cutting the Floral Heart Frame Die three times from white cardstock and then three more times from colored cardstock. I adhered the first white die cut to my card front and then using a Crystal Katana, I inlaid the colored pieces into the flowers and leaves. After all those tiny pieces were placed , I layered the two white die cuts over those to create depth and dimension. Finally, I added some gold Nuvo shimmer pen over the top to add some sparkle!

I enjoyed this process and I just love the finished card! It was definitely time- consuming and a labor of love….but since it is for my brother to give his wife on their 4th anniversary, totally worth it!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!
